Required Reinstatement Materials

With the submission of required immigration documents below and upon official approval of your reinstatement application a new Form I-20 will be created.

Notification of official approval will be provided by the Registrar's Office.

Deadline to submit immigration materials to ISSA:

Undergraduate Students:

Fall Semester entry	April 15
Winter/Spring entry	October 15

Graduate Students:

Fall Semester entry	March 1
Winter/Spring entry	October 15

If all documents are complete and accurate your I-20 will be created within three weeks of official approval notification.

Please complete and submit the following documents to move forward with processing your new Form I-20. You will be contacted should any documents need to be updated.

1) Application for Form I-20 (Below)

2) Declaration of Finance (Linked Below after you indicate your Degree Level)

3) Biographical Page of Passport

4) International Student Responsibilities Agreement (Below)

After these materials have been received and if your reinstatement application is approved, a new I-20 will be created and emailed to you. If your F-1 Student Visa has expired, you will then take your I-20 with your passport, financial documentation and your SEVIS fee Payment Receipt to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country to apply for a new F-1 Student Visa.

Once you arrive on campus, it is mandatory that you complete the Arrival Confirmation Form so that we can register you in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). We will send a follow up email with the link for this!

International Student Responsibilities Agreement

Make sure to use the Rhode Island School of Design I-20 to enter the United States. *

I will maintain a full course of study (minimum of 12 credits) during my entire stay in the U.S.
There are limited exceptions to the full course of study rule. Please obtain authorization from International Student & Scholar Affairs (ISSA) BEFORE you drop below a full course of study. *

I will keep my passport and I-20 valid at all times.
I-20’s need to be reissued when any information on them changes: name, major, sponsor, dates, etc. *

I will check my travel documents to be certain they are in order before leaving the country.
Travel signatures on pg. 2 of your I-20 remain valid for 1 year. *

I will remain aware of the program end date on my I-20.
You have a 60-day grace period after your program end date to leave the U.S. *

I will report a change of residence or name change to International Student & Scholar Affairs within 10 days of change. *
