Brisbane Exemption Request Form

Any exemption granted will be limited to the benchmarking submission for which the request was made and does not extend to past or future submittals.

For each reporting cycle, a property owner may request an exemption from submitting a benchmarking report and the department shall determine whether an exemption under this subsection applies to a building. A property owner may appeal a determination that a building is not exempt as set forth in Section 15.77.125.

Exemption Options

Benchmarking is not required for a covered public property for the current reporting year if the owner submits documentation to the director establishing that the property has met one of the following conditions: *

A Certificate of Occupancy or Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the building was not issued for more than half of the calendar year required to be benchmarked

The building was vacant for more than half of the calendar year required to be benchmarked

The building did not receive energy or water services for more than half of the calendar year required to be benchmarked

A demolition permit for the entire building has been issued, or a schedule for demolition can be reasonably documented to the satisfaction of the Department
