City of Columbus Energy & Water Benchmarking Deadline Extension Request

The annual deadline to comply with the Columbus Benchmarking Ordinance is June 1. The 2024 reporting cycle will collect whole-building energy and water data for calendar year 2023 (1/1/2023- 12/31/2023). Benchmarking Reports must be submitted via ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.

If you need additional time to comply with the Benchmarking Ordinance, please complete the following deadline extension request form by entering your building information and selecting the extension reason that applies. Extension requests will be reviewed by city staff and applicants will be notified of approval or denial.

If you are submitting a request because you are waiting on an aggregation tool for natural gas, your extension will be good until a tool is made available at which point you will be notified of the new deadline and next steps. For those waiting on an aggregation tool for Columbia Gas, make sure you select the last option in the choices below. For all other extension request choices, if your request is approved, you will have until August 1, 2024 to submit your annual Benchmarking Report.
