The annual deadline to comply with the Columbus Benchmarking Ordinance is June 1. The 2023 reporting cycle will collect whole-building energy and water data for calendar year (1/1/2022 – 12/31/2022). Benchmarking Reports must be submitted via ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and approved by June 1.
If your building qualifies for a covered exemption, please complete the following form by selecting the one exemption for which you are applying and submitting the required documentation. Exemption requests will be reviewed by city staff and applicants will be notified of approval or denial.
Exemptions should be submitted prior to the June 1 deadline and are only valid for the current reporting year; a new exemption request must be submitted each year if the exemption still holds true and the building wishes to remain exempt from benchmarking requirements. This form is for Reporting Year 2023 Exemptions. If you would like to submit an exemption for a prior year please reach out to the Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
