New Teacher Center (NTC) has become a leader in professional learning. Today, our evidence-based mentoring and coaching program models support leadership to design sustainable school- and district-based systems of support for teachers at all stages of their careers. With growing empirical evidence of effectiveness, coaching has been adopted as an instructional improvement approach. And, the pervasiveness of “initiative fatigue” in districts as a reality, in addition to necessary focus on “what” teachers are teaching, job-embedded coaching not only has the potential to ensure teachers receive relevant, instructionally-aligned support, but it also serves as a critical lever to ensure “the how” is addressed with coherence and focus.
