From July to September of 2020, Education Week collected reopening plans from a sample of school districts around the country. This data provides a snapshot of how districts began the 2020-21 school year. We did not track changes after a district's first day of classes. It was a working list gleaned from district websites, local media reports, and Education Week reporting. It includes 2018-19 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics. It is not meant to be a comprehensive collection.
