Evaluating Global Digital Education: Student Outcomes Framework

Educating students to become globally competent adults has never been a more important task for those preparing the next generation to live and work in a globalized and digitally connected world. The challenge for global education is determining the content of curricula, how best to teach it, and whether efforts to accomplish its goal are working. This paper presents the innovative approach of global digital exchange, defines what globally competent students should learn, and introduces an evaluation framework for global education based on student learning outcomes. Global Cities, Inc. developed these student learning outcomes, which provide a comprehensive and coherent picture of global competency in the classroom, based on the experience of Global Scholars, the digital exchange currently connecting over 15,500 students around the world. The paper was co-published by Bloomberg Philanthropies and OECD. Download Evaluating Global Digital Education: Student Outcomes Framework
