Service Units may use this form to:

-Report Service Unit Approved Awards to the council for record keeping (Shining Star (formerly Hidden Hero), New Found Treassure and Volunteer of Excellence)

-Request pins for Service Unit Approved Awards

-Report Years of Service Pins that will be handed out to Service Unit Members for record keeping

-Request Years of Service Pins

These awards are approved and presented by the Service Unit or program delivery group. Nomination Forms are available to Service Units at www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/recognition. Nomination forms do not need to be turned into the council but awardees should be reported to the council for record keeping by using this digital form.

Pins are available at no cost to Service Units. If you require pins for Service Unit Approved Awards, please indicate how many are needed below.

Pins can be mailed or picked up from an office.

Please allow 3 weeks processing time for your pins to be mailed or transfered to the location of your choice. If asking for pick up, you will be notified when pins are available for pick up.

We are currently awaiting new pins that reflect the name change to Shining Star. Shining Star pin requests may be delayed and not available with the rest of your initial request. As of February, we anticipate pins arriving in mid to late April.

If you do not wish to wait, we do have a stock of Hidden Hero pins and are able to send those out to be awarded. The requirements for the award remain unchanged, the name has simply been updated.

Leader Gifts for Graduating Ambassador Leaders

GCNWI is happy to offer a thank you gift to Leaders and Assistant Leaders of graduating Ambassadors.

The 2024 gift is a Girl Scout keychain. These are available free of charge and may be requested by Service Units who may wish to recognize these volunteers at a Service Unit recognition event.

Keychains are limited to one per volunteer.

Who qualifies:

Leaders and Assistant Leaders who have a 12th grade Ambassador who is graduating with the Class of 2024.

Who does NOT qualify:

Parents of graduating Ambassadors who dont hold a leadership role in the troop

Leaders/Assistant Leaders of 8th graders

Graduating Ambassadors themselves
