North Pacific Surgical Association Annual Meeting, November 11-12, 2022, The Hotel Murano, Tacoma, WA - Abstract Submission Form


Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the call for abstracts for the North Pacific Surgical Association Meeting, November 11-12, 2022 at the Hotel Murano, Tacoma, WA. 

Abstracts submitted by residents will be eligible for the resident competition prize.

Abstracts accepted for paper presentation at the meeting will be submitted for publication in the American Journal of Surgery. The author-correspondent will be notified of acceptance by the end of July.

The abstract deadline has been EXTENDED to midnight, July 8, 2022. We will confirm receipt of all abstracts, so please contact us if you haven’t received confirmation after abstract submission. Abstracts accepted by online submission only. 

      • Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words
      • Edit carefully and check for errors
      • All submitted abstracts should adhere to the following format:
      • Introduction
      • Methods
      • Results
      • Discussion

Details on abstract presentations, including length of presentation, discussion, and closing will be sent out in the summer after selections are made. Please note that if the abstract is selected for presentation, a completed manuscript is due prior to October 21, 2022.

Digital Poster Session

NPSA is accepting a limited number of e-poster presentations. These will be available to view virtually during the meeting. Posters will be considered for abstracts that were not selected for podium presentations. Let us know if you are interested in presenting a poster by checking the box below. Digital Poster presentations will be three minutes, with one minute of discussion.

Poster Session:
Consider our abstract for a poster presentation in the event our abstract is not selected for a podium presentation. *


In accordance with ACCME regulations, the American College of Surgeons, as the accredited provider for this activity, must ensure that anyone who is in a position to control the content of the education activity has disclosed to us all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest (see below for definitions) as it pertains to the content of the presentation. Should it be determined that a conflict of interest exists as a result of a financial relationship you may have, you will be contacted and methods to resolve the conflict will be discussed with you. In addition, all affirmative disclosures must be revealed by a slide at the beginning of the presentation. Failure or refusal to disclose or the inability to resolve the identified conflict will result in the withdrawal of the invitation to participate. Check the appropriate box. if you DO have disclosures a form will be sent to you with further instructions. *


Discussants and Closers: The closer of the paper is typically a senior author and a member of NPSA. Closers cannot be a resident. Also, a closer can be the presenter, but only if approved in advance and not a resident. Discussants will be assigned to the papers based on area of expertise.
